THIS VERSION OF THE COPE WITH CANCER CD-ROM is dated November 1,1998
1) If you do not have version 2.5 of QuickTime installed on your computer open the
QuicktTime for Mac folder and follow the instructions for installation.
2) To launch the program click on either the "COPE8bit" or "COPE16bit"
icon. Depending on which one you launch your monitor will be set to 8 bit
(256 colors) or 16bit(thousands of colors). Factors in determining which
version to select are: available monitor settings of your system, RAM
available for playback speed (the less ram available the slower the
playback so "8bit" might be preferable), and image resolution
(16bit provides better image quality).
COPE is programmed to reset your monitor ("COPE8bit" sets it
to 256 colors, "COPE16bit" sets it to thousands of colors).
Should you need to reset your monitor to another color depth
upon finishing with COPE go into SystemFolder\Control
Panels and look for either "Monitor" or "Monitor and Sound".
Double click and select desired color depth.
